Project Summary
About the project
I joined Gambit Sports in 2018 as the sole designer on a real-money poker product. No design system, no prior UX documentation, no research. I built it all flows, gamification loops, engagement mechanics and shipped to a live user base.

SDK Constraint:
Gameplay happens in P52’s SDK, so the core mechanics weren’t editable. However, we could customize the UI to enhance the experience.
Drop-offs Before Gameplay:
Users bounced at the shell level before reaching the actual game.Discovery Issues:
Users found it difficult to explore Cash Games, Tournaments, or Offers.UI Fragmentation:
Maintaining continuity across HiScore’s brand.
Design Objectives
Create a compelling, Nostra-branded UI shell that increases user engagement pre-game.
Improve visibility and discoverability of key sections: Wallet, Cash Games, Tournaments.
Reduce friction across entry points and increase deposit rates via strategic UI placement.

Visual Style
Modern, immersive dark mode with high-contrast callouts.Typography
Bold headings and clear hierarchy to support real-money gaming clarity.Motion
Lightweight micro-animations to enhance user feedback (e.g., deposit success, transitions).Nostra Branding
Integrated fonts, icons, and colors from the existing Nostra design system.
App Flow
Designed end to end gameplay flows for Poker on iOS, focusing on seamless login, intuitive navigation, and engaging in-app experiences like leaderboards, offers, and loyalty features.
Integrated monetization and retention strategies through real-time leaderboards, bonus offers, and engagement-driven features, boosting player retention and session depth.
Collaborated with cross-functional teams to align UX with product goals, ensuring scalable design systems, smooth payment/KYC flows, and a consistent player experience.
Onboarding Flow
The app opens with carousel showcasing key propositions: various poker formats (NLHE, PLO, Rapid), tournament prizes, security features, and exciting offers.
The carousel themed is 3D iconography.
Phone Number Login + OTP UI
A familiar mobile login form follows, supporting number entry with instant validation feedback.
OTP UI designed with clear input fields, progress states, and error handling (e.g., invalid OTP or resend prompt).
The form maintains user momentum with fluid transitions between number entry and OTP verification.
Geo-Restriction Flow
After authentication, a mandatory **Geo-location permission screen** appears to ensure compliance with legal restrictions.
States like Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Gujarat and Telangana are restricted, and users are shown a precise visual block with call-to-action (e.g., contact support).
Permission request flow includes system modal, fetching loader, and fallback scenarios (e.g., denied permission with retry prompt).
Rewards & Deposit Offer UX
Users are rewarded instantly post-verification with a dynamic reward screen (animated gift box opening to reveal perks).
The Rewards Dashboard breaks down poker cash, tickets, and bonus cash in a gamified yet readable format.
The next screen shows Earn More Rewards*UI a grid of deposit tiers (₹1 to ₹999+) with matching cashback.
Designed to nudge immediate deposits with urgency (countdown timer) and tier clarity through color-coded cards.
Primary Flow (Discoverability)
The main screen of the Poker iOS App is designed as a **central hub** for users to seamlessly access gameplay, manage their finances, and engage with offers.
Clear Entry Points
Prominent cards for **Cash Tables** and **Tournaments** help users quickly decide how they want to play.Conversion-Focused Offers
Eye catching deposit cashback cards (like 25%/50%) nudge users to add funds right away.
Gamification & Community
Leaderboards and event widgets highlight competitive play and upcoming challenges.
Financial Overview
A wallet snapshot with Add Money and Withdraw CTAs ensures frictionless financial interactions.
Profile & Support
The profile tab includes personal info, support access, and app compliance to build trust and retention.
Navigation
A sticky bottom nav bar helps users easily switch between gameplay, offers, wallet, and profile.
Popup & micro-interactions
Strong Call-to-Actions:
CTAs like “Download Update”, “Transfer”, and “Retry” are visually distinct, so players don’t second-guess what to do next.
Secondary actions (like “Not Now” or “Close”) are subtly styled to avoid accidental clicks.
Consistent Visual Language:
Uniform shape, shadow, and color styling across popups create a coherent and polished experience.
Soft-rounded edges and gentle gradients make them approachable, reinforcing trust and comfort.
Feedback & Assurance:
Popups like “Loading Assets 70%” and “Transaction Initiated” reassure players that their actions are in progress or completed.
Edge Cases Considered:
Location fetch errors and transaction cancellations are handled gracefully, ensuring players feel supported and informed rather than frustrated.

Futuristic neon vibes create an immersive, modern experience. For younger users who enjoy bold, energetic environments
Elegant / Premium:**
Subtle and premium materials provide a sophisticated, high-end look. For Gen Z and millennial users looking for refined, modern design
Minimalistic
Flat colors and clean lines for users who value clarity and focus. For players who prefer distraction-free, clean interfaces, especially mobile-first audiences.
Table Gameplay: From Two Hand → One hand play
Designed for real-world use cases where players prefer casual, one-handed interaction during commute, lounging, or multitasking.
Layout remain same and key actions like Fold, Check, Raise were positioned at the bottom for natural thumb access.
